New Direction is a not-for-profit partnership founded by Jacquetta H. Bullock in September 2000 to provide educational and social support services for at-risk women, children and families. Since 2000, we have served more than 6,000 men, women and children through one of the many service areas and partnerships within our community.
NDMI closed its transitional housing facility, Destiny House, in February 2012 and partnered with Infinite Possibilities, Inc.'s Rapid Re-Housing Program to help homeless individuals and families in crisis.
We continue to provide direct services to at-risk youth and adults. The T.A. Byrd Youth Enrichment Program provides integrated instruction and educational activities to improve the basic reading, math, writing skills and English language proficiency for youth ages six to seventeen years of age. The human services component assists families socially and financially through instruction, awareness, education, referrals and advocacy.
